CHAPTER 1 Walking home: it's a concept that people in this city can't even wrap their heads around. The people in my high school can't even understand it. It's sad, really, that a bunch of kids, in the prime of their lives, can't survive without their cars. The more polite ones are amazed that I walk a whopping 1.8 miles to school every day.
